The newly built airport in Kunming, Yunnan Province is one of the largest airports in China. The unique golden colour roof & exposed structure represents the culture of Yunnan.
Suckow & Fischer was taken part in design and supply metal ceiling, metal wall and column cladding for the entire International Arrival terminal at the airport.
Exposed open gaps of the ceiling panels along the wall and at the oval & circular shape columns are designed to avoid using wall trims, construction tolerance and site cutting of the panels. The ceiling looks flat and perfect without damages.
The aluminium expanded metal mesh hook-on ceiling along the corridors is demountable by hands. The open gap between the each row of ceiling panels allows the installation of downlights, sprinklers and other building services. It looks very nice without any opening on all ceiling panels.
