Terminal 1 Annex (T1A) Building is part of the Third-Runway System that projected to operate from 2024 of Hong Kong International Airport. Terminal 1 Annex Building is located at the north of the existing Terminal 1 which is in operations from November 2019.

Part of the T1A extension equips with a new Check-In Island - Aisle K with 48 check-in counters located at Level 7, departure level.

Materials supplied including hook-on cladding panels, ceiling panels in 3mm thick aluminium, canopies compose of 15mm thick aluminium cantilever arms, aluminium extruded louver blades and edge louvers made of 2mm thick aluminium.

Due to the busy operations & regular inspection of the check-in counters, our primary design focus was the easy access for servicing with demountable function of all elements and able to re-instate to positions without the presence of the ceiling technicians.

Cladding panels can be removed from the concealed hook on rails for easy access, screw fixed ceiling panels to access to the plenum by releasing screws at the upstands of the ceiling panels; louver blades are suspended by threaded rods along the groove at the bottom of the extruded profiles to allow ‘flip & lift’ actions for the removal of louver blades.
